Traffic Control Person
Overview
Chapman Industries Ltd is a growing company that has been in operation in the Okanagan for over 30 years. As a general contractor in the field of Heavy Civil Construction and Earthworks, we specialize in subdivision development, site preparation and servicing, public road reconstruction, and road and highway construction.
We are committed to our employees' safety and to environmental stewardship.
We are looking to hire a Traffic Control Person to join our hardworking crew here in the Okanagan. While job experience will be considered an asset, we are willing to train the right candidate.
Wage will be based upon experience.
**Please note that we are not accepting out-of-country resumes at this time.
Responsibilities:
- Ensure required PPE is worn at all times
- Direct drivers, pedestrians, and workers safely around road construction sites
- Set up and provide traffic control specifications
- Protect workers in the construction zone by regulating traffic flow
- Communicate effectively with other traffic control team members, work crew, and the public
Necessary Skills & Qualifications:
- Must have a valid Class 5 Driver's Licence
- Must be able to safely operate company vehicles
- Must have a valid BC TCP Certificate
- Must be able to work well with others
- Must be able to communicate effectively with others
Education & Experience:
- No experience is necessary, but will be considered an asset
Work Environment:
- Working outdoors in all seasons and in extreme temperatures
- Working around heavy equipment
- Working near traffic
- Exposure to dust and loud noises
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: From $22.00 per hour
Additional pay:

- Vernon, BC: reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (required)
Licence/Certification:
