About the Opportunity
A highly regarded Canadian consulting firm with a strong national reputation is seeking a senior benefits consulting professional to join its Toronto practice. This is a firm that works with some of Canada's largest employers on complex group benefits mandates. You will be joining a collaborative environment where quality of work takes precedence over billable hour targets and where there are no individual sales quotas.
The Role
You will manage a portfolio of large employer clients across group benefits, providing strategic advice on plan design, benchmarking, carrier management, cost optimisation, and renewals. You will also play a mentoring role within the team and contribute to business development activity.
Key Responsibilities

- Advise clients on group benefits plan design, renewals, and market benchmarking
- Lead carrier negotiations and manage insurer relationships on behalf of clients
- Identify opportunities to expand client relationships and contribute to new business development
- Mentor and support junior consultants within the practice
- Stay current on Canadian benefits legislation, market trends, and emerging issues
What We Are Looking For

- Experience working with large employer clients
- Strong client management and relationship-building skills
- Demonstrated involvement in business development or client growth
- Comfortable managing multiple client engagements simultaneously
- Experience with pensions or broader total rewards is an asset but not required
- French language skills are an advantage but not a requirement
- Based in Toronto or willing to relocate
Why This Role
- No individual sales targets or billable hour pressure
- Work with some of Canada's largest and most sophisticated employers
- Genuine work-life balance with an explicit switch‑off culture
- One day per week in office with flexibility for senior professionals
- Strong team culture with real mentoring and development opportunities
