Senior FullStack Engineer - Cloud Observability

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Senior FullStack Engineer - Cloud Observability based in the Canada . This is a full-time, remote engineering role focused on building and scaling cloud integrations and observability applications. You’ll work across the frontend, backend, and configuration layers to deliver features from concept through production. The role combines product thinking with hands-on software engineering and direct ownership of customer-facing functionality. You’ll contribute to technologies such as React, TypeScript, Go, and Jsonnet while working with open-source observability technologies. Your work will help developers monitor applications and infrastructure, understand telemetry, and respond to issues more effectively. You’ll collaborate across distributed teams, contribute to upstream open-source projects, and participate in technical and roadmap discussions. The position also offers a remote-first environment with significant autonomy, modern AI-assisted development tools, and opportunities to influence products used at scale. Accountabilities: - Build and ship end-to-end features for cloud integrations and observability applications, spanning user interfaces, backend services, dashboards, and alerts. - Develop and maintain frontend experiences using TypeScript and React, backend services using Go, and monitoring mixins using Jsonnet. - Own projects from initial problem definition through production, including engaging with users and evaluating the impact of delivered solutions. - Move comfortably across the technology stack according to project needs, taking responsibility for both product functionality and technical implementation. - Create technical design proposals, lead demonstrations, and represent the team’s work in cross-functional discussions and roadmap planning.

- Contribute to open-source projects and technologies such as Prometheus, OpenTelemetry, and Grafana Alloy where relevant. - Participate in the on-call rotation for the services and systems you own, helping maintain reliable production environments. - Use AI-assisted development tools responsibly to accelerate prototyping, testing, refactoring, documentation, and incident follow-up while maintaining strong engineering and review standards. - Collaborate effectively in a distributed environment through written documentation, video meetings, issues, pull requests, and cross-team communication. Requirements: - Proven software engineering experience with a strong interest in working across the full stack and a product-focused approach to problem solving. - Professional experience with both frontend and backend development; experience with TypeScript/React and Go is highly relevant, while comparable languages and frameworks may also translate well. - At least two years of experience working with Golang. - Practical experience using AI-assisted development tools, coding agents, or LLM-based tooling as part of a modern software development workflow. - Working knowledge of observability concepts and technologies, including Prometheus, Grafana dashboards, alerting, telemetry, and production monitoring. - Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to work independently and collaborate effectively across distributed teams and time zones. - Ability to take ownership, raise concerns early, advocate for technical or product decisions, and communicate effectively with stakeholders beyond the immediate team. - Strong product mindset, with the ability to start from user needs and determine what should be built as well as how it should be implemented. - Experience with open-source development, developer tooling, Grafana plugins or dashboards, Grafana Alloy, the OpenTelemetry Collector, Jsonnet, or telemetry pipeline technologies is advantageous.
