Your role
The Plant Engineer is responsible for improving the overall performance of the plant by developing and implementing technical solutions aimed at optimizing equipment reliability, process performance, and operational efficiency.
They act as a technical reference for the maintenance and operations teams by identifying improvement opportunities, analyzing failure causes, and developing strategies to reduce losses, improve equipment availability, and optimize maintenance costs.
What you will accomplish daily
Equipment reliability and failure analysis
- Identify breakdown trends and analyze equipment performance data to detect improvement opportunities
- Analyze recurring issues, conduct root cause analyses, and develop corrective and preventive action plans
- Optimize preventive, predictive, and condition-based maintenance programs
- Act as a technical expert for maintenance, operations, and engineering teams
- Develop and maintain technical documentation, engineering standards, and plant drawings
- Use CMMS data (SAP) to improve maintenance strategy and equipment performance
Process optimization
- Identify, develop, and execute improvement projects aimed at increasing reliability, productivity, and operational efficiency
- Participate in equipment modifications and process improvements to achieve business objectives
Continuous improvement
- Develop and support continuous improvement initiatives focused on reducing losses and improving manufacturing performance
- Collaborate with production and maintenance teams to foster a culture of continuous improvement
What you need to join our team
- Bachelor’s degree in mechanical, electrical, food engineering, or a related discipline
- 5 to 10 years of experience in a manufacturing environment
- Experience in reliability, maintenance, continuous improvement, or plant engineering
- Experience in the food or dairy industry is an asset
- Strong knowledge of equipment reliability and asset management
- Knowledge of continuous improvement methodologies (TPM, Lean, problem-solving)
- Experience with a CMMS (SAP is an asset)
