Role Description The Horticulture Technician – Greenhouse is a full-time, on-site role based in Bala, ON. This position is responsible for daily plant care, including watering, pruning, fertilizing, and monitoring plant health in the greenhouse and surrounding landscaped areas. The role involves assisting with propagation, transplanting, pest and disease monitoring, and maintaining irrigation systems to support healthy plant growth. The technician will help with greenhouse cleanliness, organization of tools and supplies, and safe handling of materials and equipment. Additional tasks include supporting outdoor landscape maintenance projects, loading and unloading plant materials, and collaborating with team members to meet project timelines and quality standards.

Qualifications
- Strong practical skills in Landscape Maintenance and Landscaping, with the ability to maintain clean, safe, and attractive outdoor spaces.
- Hands-on experience in Gardening and basic Botany, including plant identification, care, and monitoring for pests and diseases.
- Working knowledge of Irrigation systems, including setup, routine checks, and troubleshooting for efficient water use.
- Ability to perform physically demanding tasks, including lifting, bending, and working in varying weather conditions.
- Attention to detail, good time management, and the ability to follow horticultural best practices and safety procedures.
- Previous experience in a greenhouse, nursery, or landscape environment is preferred; horticulture-related education or certification is an asset.
- Effective communication skills and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation to the Bala, ON worksite are an advantage.
