Become a key player at Vancouver General Hospital as a Hospitalist in Thoracic Surgery. Ensure comprehensive care for thoracic patients and foster effective teamwork in surgical settings. This role at Vancouver Coastal Health involves providing dedicated medical coverage for a thoracic surgery ward. You will collaborate closely with thoracic surgeons and nurse-practitioners, handling patient admissions, daily visits, and discharge summaries. Both full-time and part-time options are available, encouraging a balance of professional and personal life. Key Responsibilities:
- Provide ongoing medical care for thoracic surgery patients
- Document patient assessments and treatment plans thoroughly
- Collaborate with healthcare providers for efficient patient management
- Organize and participate in quality audits and safety initiatives
- Manage patient records including discharge summaries
- Current CPSBC License (Full or eligible)
- Mandatory certifications in CCFP and FRCPC
- Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification required
- Minimum of one year hospitalist experience mandatory
- Familiarity with Vancouver General Hospital guidelines preferred
