- Monitor all areas of the property for internal and external theft, unusual activity, and/or potential security threats.
- Monitor security systems such as alarms and closed-circuit cameras.
- Verify customer receipts at the exit and conduct further investigation as necessary.
- Identify, document and report all internal/external theft, security violations and potential hazards to management.
- Work with law enforcement to detain suspected shoplifters.
- Maintain records of incidents.
- Ensure trespass documentation is completed and recorded.
- Assist with the development and/or implementation of security policies.
- Ensure compliance with Health and Safety regulations.
- Valid Provincial Security Guard licence
- Experience in loss prevention techniques and processes
- Strong attention to detail
- Excellent conflict resolution capabilities
- Ability to handle physical demands including standing/walking for 8 hours
- Ability to work shifts (days, evenings, week-ends and holidays)
- Ability to remain calm and composed in stressful situations
- Ability to find solutions to problems, adapt and cope with challenging situations and make difficult decisions
- Effective written and oral communication skills
- Basic computer skills

This role includes patrolling store aisles and monitoring customers, watching security camera footage, and responding to suspected incidents of theft.
