Route Sales Representative

Cottage Country Snack Foods is looking for someone with an entrepreneurial spirit to maintain and further develop an already established customer route throughout the Edmonton and surrounding area. Cottage Country is a highly-recognized brand of preferred candies, nuts and trail mixes. Products are of premium quality, are packed fresh and delivered fresh every day, from coast to coast.

We use AI-assisted tools to help identify and match applicants to our open roles. This may include reviewing resumes and suggesting potential matches. All final hiring decisions are made by humans.

Tasks

• Sell regular, seasonal and promotional products
• Develop business opportunities within a defined geographical territory
• Serve points of sale (approximately every 2-4 week) within the territory
• Build a relationship of trust with the customer
• Merchandising
• Expect to work long hours, throughout all kinds of weather conditions
• Place orders for goods
• Manage product returns and rotate them within the store and truck
• Manage your truck's inventory and maintain sufficient stock
• Maintenance of the truck and work equipment according to company requirements

• Focused, relevant sales experience in route sales, outside sales, territory sales, distribution, wholesale, direct store delivery, food sales, merchandising-led account management, or other transferable territory management environments.
• Experience managing an assigned geographic territory or customer route.
• Experience developing new business and increasing sales within an existing customer base.
• Customer service, with strong customer relationship and account management skills.
• Experience taking orders, managing inventory, merchandising products, rotating stock, handling returns, and restocking.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Demonstrated sales results, such as sales growth, customer retention, territory growth, new account acquisition, or meeting sales targets.
• Excellent physical condition, including loading, unloading, stocking, merchandising, or lifting products over 30 pounds.
• Knowledge of St Albert and surrounding area or experience working across a geographically dispersed territory.
• Willing and able to work long days, travel within a territory, and occasionally stay overnight.
• Experience driving for work or operating a delivery vehicle, sales vehicle, or company truck is a plus.
• Comfortable working outdoors as part of the route is a plus.

• Pay: CA$50,000.00-CA$60,000.00 per year
