Main Purpose and Function 
The Warehouse Worker performs material handling function at the Vancouver Election Office warehouse including loading, unloading, sorting, storing, moving, and counting inventory; receiving and issuing voting place 
supplies, packing and labeling voting place supplies; delivering supplies to voting places; and conducting general  warehouse maintenance.    

Key Contacts and Reporting Relationships 
The position reports to the Office Supervisor with close ties to the Assistant Election Manager. Key contacts  include the Chief Election Officer, Deputy Chief Election Officers, Election Management Team, Presiding  Election Officials and voting place facility contacts. 

Specific Duties/Responsibilities 

• Unloads and inspects supplies for quality and quantity
• Compares purchase order to packing slip, report and document any discrepancies
• Arranges and stocks supplies on racks, shelves, or bins according to predetermined sequence, and restock shelves as required  
• Stores, distributes, and/or disposes of returned material
• Conducts scheduled inventory cycle counts, record count totals, and reports any discrepancies
• Packs, assembles, prepares, and delivers voting place supplies to voting places
• Assists with logistics of delivery and pick up of supplies to voting places
• Adheres to the necessary safety methods and procedures, departmental processes, and corporate policies
• Maintains warehouse cleanliness and organization
• Performs other duties/responsibilities as assigned 

Minimum Qualification Requirements 
Education and Experience: 

• Completion of grade 12 or equivalency
• Related warehouse experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience
• A valid B.C. driver’s license is required; license must not include any restrictions that would affect the  ability to legally and safely carry out job responsibilities  

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

• Working knowledge of warehouse methods, procedures and regulations
• Physical strength and agility, sufficient to meet the demands of the job: lifting, bending, reaching, and carrying, including moving heavy items in all weather conditions
• Some knowledge of the various types and grades of supplies, tools and equipment used in municipal operations.
• Ability to issue and receive supplies and to perform related clerical recordkeeping tasks manually or using a computer terminal.
• Ability to use software systems used in the work.
• Ability to work in high volume environment with frequent interruptions and changing priorities
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team
• Ability to understand and effectively carry out written and oral instructions
• Ability to work comfortably on a ladder, or at height
• Ability to read, write, count, and speak English
• Steel toe boots required
• Ability to work weekends and evenings during peak season 

Drivers License and Record Checks
Candidates must attach the following records and satisfy the City’s driving requirements to be considered for this role:

• Copy of your five-year ICBC Commercial Driver’s Abstract (N Print) directly from ICBC dated within 14 days of this posting
• Copy of your five-year ICBC Driver’s Claims History directly from ICBC within 14 days of this posting
• If you have less than five years driving experience in BC, a request must be made for out of province/country abstract and claims history
