Nanny Qualifications & Core Requirements The ideal candidate should meet the following essential and preferred criteria: 1. Safety, Certification & Professional Standards Current CPR and First Aid certification (infant and toddler level required) Demonstrated knowledge of toddler safety protocols, including active supervision at all times High situational awareness, particularly in semi-outdoor environments (e.g., patios, hard surfaces, stairs) Strong understanding of childproofing principles and proactive risk prevention Ability to confidently and calmly intervene in unsafe situations (e.g., climbing hazards, electrical outlets, doors, restricted areas) 2. Early Childhood Experience & Developmental Competence Significant hands-on experience caring for toddlers (approx. 12–36 months) Fully self-sufficient in managing core routines without instruction, including: Diaper changing (2–3 times daily as needed) Reading hunger, fatigue, overstimulation, and comfort cues Managing nap schedules Age-appropriate communication and redirection strategies Strong understanding of developmental milestones for early walkers and active toddlers Ability to provide one-on-one play before and after meal times 3. Emotional Intelligence & Care Approach High emotional intelligence with a calm, nurturing, and patient demeanor Ability to soothe, regulate, and emotionally support a highly social and expressive toddler Skilled in maintaining a sense of safety, consistency, and emotional grounding throughout the day Responsive and attuned caregiving style (child-led interaction balanced with firm boundaries) 4. Engagement, Play & Cognitive Stimulation Creative and proactive in designing age-appropriate activities throughout the day Comfortable engaging in: Reading and storytelling Singing, music, and rhythmic play Interactive play (cups, stacking, sensory exploration) Ability to sustain engagement through varied, rotating activities without excessive screen reliance Familiarity with developmental, sensory, and motor skill-building play techniques 5. Behavioral Guidance & Discipline Approach Confident in setting clear, consistent, and gentle boundaries Skilled in redirecting curiosity-driven but unsafe behavior (e.g., wires, cupboards, doors, climbing) Uses positive reinforcement and distraction-based strategies rather than punitive approaches Maintains authority while preserving a warm, trusting caregiver-child relationship 6. Hygiene, Nutrition & Daily Care Strong attention to hygiene practices for both child and self Ensures cleanliness during diapering, play, and meal-related routines No cooking required; meals will be pre-prepared or ordered Comfortable managing toddler snacking routines (e.g., crackers, light snacks) Ensures child remains clean, dry, and appropriately cared for throughout the day 7. Mobility, Supervision & Physical Awareness Highly attentive supervision for a newly walking toddler (early walker stage) Must remain physically close and actively engaged, particularly in areas with hard surfaces or fall risk (e.g., patio cement) Able to anticipate movement patterns and prevent unsafe exploration before it escalates 8. Screen Time Management Managing only up to one hour of structured screen time daily (Miss Rachel) Able to integrate screen time appropriately without it becoming passive or excessive 9. Communication & Cultural Competence (Optional but preferred) Strong communication skills in English required Arabic and/or Turkish language ability is a strong asset but not mandatory Prior experience working in multicultural or Middle Eastern households is considered advantageous Cultural sensitivity and discretion in household settings 10. Professionalism & Service Expectations (Premium-Level Role) Given the compensation level (~$35/hour), the following are expected: Punctuality, reliability, and consistent attendance Strong discretion and respect for household privacy Ability to function independently without micro-management Proactive communication with parents regarding child behavior, concerns, and daily updates Demonstrated experience in high-standard private childcare environments (nanny agencies, VIP households, or equivalent) Please visit to view full details and to apply.
