Cultural Heritage Planner in Hamilton

Reporting to the Cultural Heritage Program Lead, this role involves analyzing heritage property applications and conducting site visits for historic preservation. Collaboration with local committees and providing technical guidance are central to your contributions. You will prepare comprehensive reports and policy strategies, and engage with the public and developers on heritage-related matters.

Key Responsibilities: • Research architectural styles and historical significance • Review Planning Act applications and heritage property alterations • Coordinate with the Hamilton Municipal Heritage Committee • Provide technical advice on conservation issues • Prepare reports and strategies for heritage designation

Requirements: • University degree in Planning or related field • Experience with Ontario Heritage Act and Planning Act • Strong organizational and customer service skills • Ability to prepare effective reports and policies • Proven capacity to meet tight deadlines
