Automotive Equipment Service Technician

Job Responsibility:

• Daytona Automotive is looking to hire a Service Technician.
• A Service Technician helps with equipment installations, deliveries and service calls, along with equipment prep and general warehouse work.
• Daytona Automotive Equipment sells car hoists, tire changers, and wheel balancers to auto repair shops and other businesses.

Wage: Position is posted to start at $20.00 per hour, paid out weekly. Starting wage is dependent on skill level and can be increased for the right candidate.

Job Type: Full Time 8:00 am - 4:30 pm Monday to Friday 40hrs/week

This position is IN PERSON only; No remote work - Candidate must be within a reasonable driving distance with a reliable method of transportation.

: Prep, install and service automotive equipment (car hoists, tire changers, wheel balancers, etc.) as well as complete various warehouse tasks such as cleaning, prepping items for shipping, keeping the warehouse organized, and modifying equipment.

Job Requirements:

• MANDATORY/REQUIRED - Mechanically inclined - Able to work with hand, power, and air tools. Knowledge of how to use power tools, and an interest in fixing machinery. You will be asked to provide examples to show your proficiency in using power tools.
• MANDATORY/REQUIRED - Valid Ontario G level Drivers License with a clean driving record . We will only accept applicants with their Full G level License. This is non-negotiable.
• REQUIRED - Can drive and back up a Ford Truck with a trailer attached to it. You may be asked to demonstrate this as part of the interview process, or provide examples of related experience.
• ASSET - Forklift experience. We are willing to provide training to get your forklift license. Any fork truck driving experience is useful, but specifically we use Counterbalanced Forklifts here at Daytona.
• ASSET - Welding knowledge. A nice advantage, as we sometimes have to weld modifications to meet customers requests. Welding skills past high school level would be considered an asset. You may be asked to describe your experience.
• ASSET - Able to do heavy lifting as required. You will not be asked to lift over 60lbs by yourself - Working in teams when it comes to heavy lifting keeps you safe. Ability to lift up to 50lbs on occasion is required.
• Knowledge of hydraulic machinery.
• Willingness to learn how to install equipment in a safe manner - you will be trained by our service manager.
• Comfortable with heights - Working on a ladder.
• Good communication skills, writing and reading skills, good personal hygiene, people skills, attention to detail and organized.
• You would describe yourself as trustworthy, tidy, an ethical and reliable worker.
• You have reliable transportation to get yourself to and from work. Reliable being the key word.
• You would describe yourself as a quick learner, who retains new information, with good problem-solving skills.
• Wage is dependent on skill level and may increase after probation period.
