Position: Part Time Security Guard - Place de Ville

Hours: Sunday and Saturday 11:00AM to 11:00PM

Overtime Method: Averaging Agreement (AA) after 88 hours

Pay rate: $18.35/hour

Job Duties:

• Access Control & Tenant Protection: Verify identification, security badges, and clearance credentials for federal government employees, contractors, and visitors. Manage guest logs and issue visitor passes.
• Monitoring & Surveillance: Operate advanced CCTV networks, monitor facility alarm panels, and maintain high vigilance in the central operations control room.
• Patrols: Conduct regular foot patrols throughout the four office towers, underground parking garages, and the subterranean retail concourse connecting to Lyon Station.
• Hazard & Safety Detection: Perform routine checks of fire exits, safety hazards, and facility infrastructure to ensure a secure environment and strict regulatory compliance.
• Emergency Response & De-escalation: Act as a primary responder for medical emergencies, building evacuations, or mental health crises. Effectively de-escalate public disruptions using tactical communication
• Work closely with local emergency services and Ottawa Police, delivering detailed incident reports and facilitating the transfer of suspects when necessary.
• Any other duties as assigned

Requirements:

• Valid Security License for the province of Ontario
• Functional ability with computers and technology (Microsoft Office, etc.)
• Superior customer service and professionalism
• Fluency in English (oral & written) 
• Ability to function independently and multi-task effectively in a dynamic environment
• Ability to perform consistent patrols on foot
• Ability to follow instructions and enforce on-site protocols and procedures
• Other duties as assigned

College/University Education

Certification Requirements (All)

First Aid and CPR - Level C Certification
Valid Ontario Security License
