Senior Project Director – Mining, Minerals & Metals (OAK001M)

Management Level: Senior Director Purpose

We are currently recruiting for a Senior Project Director – Mining, Minerals & Metals, a full‑time position based in Oakville, Ontario. The role provides direction and project management to ensure project completion in accordance with contractual obligations, defines project goals and devises methods to accomplish them, and develops in‑depth knowledge of customer objectives, contract terms, and corporate policies. Key Responsibilities

Leads large cross‑functional internal and external project teams and may manage subcontractors or other PMs. Oversees, motivates, and monitors performance of the team, ensuring quality and timeliness of assignments and addressing performance gaps. Creates a strong collaborative team environment by establishing a common vision, setting transparent expectations and accountability. Provides leadership to third‑party team members. Plans, organizes, manages, and controls projects using established policies, procedures, systems, and requirements approved by the company. Supplies direction and project management to ensure project completion in accordance with contractual obligations. Defines project goals and devises methods to accomplish them. Supervises project personnel through subordinate leaders. Manages a single large or mega project or multiple, complex projects/programs with some high‑risk elements. Visualizes and designs new concepts and ideas related to technical/functional projects. Demonstrates broad knowledge of business operations and implements or leads organizational change within project scope. Manages project execution, procurement of equipment/materials on the company’s paper, subcontracting and materials plan, and multiple contracts. Capable of managing mixed contracting strategies such as Unit Price, Lump Sum, Reimbursable. Has experience managing complex scope changes and contracting strategy. Monitors progress in an organized, accurate manner and provides timely information. Has completed a full project from start to finish and spent time in the field implementing engineered solutions. Has coordinated preparation of integrated project execution plans (engineering, HSE, quality, procurement, controls, estimating, construction). Understands Project Control Reports, identifies problem areas and implements recovery plans. Interprets key elements of the project schedule to identify adverse trends and takes corrective action. Applies forward planning and scheduling to appropriately resource the project. Manages coordination, reviews and follow‑ups across the project. Applies Advanced Work Packaging for planning and delivery. Experienced in successful workshare execution. Serves as a proposal manager for large and mega projects. Qualifications and Experience

Senior‑level relevant supervisory, project management and/or technical experience within the Mining, Minerals & Metals industry. Experience with EPCM, EPC, workshare, and site assignments in multi‑cultural / multi‑national environments. Professional registration in local jurisdiction. Certified Program Management Professional by a globally recognized project management organization (IPMA, APM, PMI, AIPM). Education and Training

Required university degree or equivalent in a related field or applicable discipline, or equivalent relevant experience.
