Our space evolves throughout the day—from a thoughtful specialty coffee experience in the morning to a vibrant beverage-led destination in the evening. We care deeply about craft, atmosphere, and creating moments that make guests feel genuinely welcomed.

As we continue to grow our team, we are looking for an experienced Barista who is passionate about specialty coffee, curious about modern beverages, and comfortable contributing beyond the espresso bar.

This role is ideal for someone who can make an excellent coffee, confidently engage with guests, serve beverages at the table, and support the wider team wherever needed. Bartending experience is a strong asset, but most importantly, we are looking for someone with a genuine passion for beverages, hospitality, and continuous learning.

What We’re Looking For

• At least 1 year of barista experience in a fast-paced, quality-focused specialty coffee environment
• Strong espresso preparation, milk-texturing, and latte art skills
• A solid understanding of coffee quality, consistency, and workflow
• Genuine interest in specialty coffee, creative beverages, cocktails, and new beverage concepts
• Comfortable taking orders, serving tables, running drinks, and engaging with guests
• Comfortable serving alcoholic beverages; bartending experience is preferred and considered a major asset
• Strong customer service skills and a natural understanding of hospitality
• Flexible availability for both morning and evening shifts, including weekends
• Proactive, reliable, detail-oriented, and willing to take ownership
• A team-first attitude and willingness to support tasks beyond the coffee bar
• Curiosity, adaptability, and a desire to keep learning

What You’ll Do

• Prepare consistently high-quality espresso and specialty coffee beverages
• Dial in espresso, monitor quality, and maintain coffee standards throughout service
• Prepare creative non-alcoholic and alcoholic beverages according to recipes and presentation standards
• Welcome guests, take orders, serve tables, run beverages, and provide thoughtful menu guidance
• Support bartenders and the floor team during evening service
• Assist with opening, closing, cleaning, restocking, and side duties
• Complete beverage prep and help maintain an organized and efficient workspace
• Support inventory checks and communicate stock or equipment needs
• Reset tables, clear glassware, and help maintain the overall flow of service
• Participate in training, menu development, events, and collaborative activations
• Contribute ideas and help shape the continued growth of Ellipsis

About Ellipsis

Ellipsis is a design-driven café and cocktail bar built around the transition from day to night. Our beverage program brings specialty coffee, creative non-alcoholic drinks, and cocktails together in one space.

We are a small, close-knit team that values presence, precision, curiosity, collaboration, and genuine hospitality. Alongside daily service, we regularly host events, industry collaborations, guest shifts, and creative community experiences.

This is a hands-on role for someone who wants to grow within a broader world of beverages—not someone looking to work exclusively behind an espresso machine.

Position Details

• Full-time or part-time opportunities available
• Full-time hours are approximately 35 hours per week
• Flexible availability for both morning and evening shifts is required
• Previous bartending experience is preferred but not required
• Ongoing coffee, beverage, and service training provided
