For this exciting position, we are specifically targeting students who have studied Data Science, Computer Science, Cybersecurity, Information Systems, or a related field. Candidates must be enrolled in a Canadian post-secondary institution for the entire co-op term. They must plan to return to their studies for at least one academic term after completion. If you are not currently located near the work location, you must be willing to commute or temporarily relocate for the length of the term. A valid study permit and studentship letter will be required where applicable.

The Access Governance & Oversharing Co-op supports the governance and security of SharePoint, Teams, OneDrive, and other Microsoft 365 collaboration environments. The co-op will help identify and assess oversharing risks, coordinate access reviews, maintain governance records, and prepare reports to support informed decision-making.

Working closely with Data Protection Operations, workspace owners, IT platform teams, and other collaborators, the co-op is encouraged to contribute to improving access governance processes, strengthening controls, and supporting risk reduction initiatives across the Microsoft 365 environment.

This role provides hands-on experience in information governance, data protection, access management, and Microsoft 365 security and compliance. The co-op will also help improve the team’s operational efficiency by supporting tracking, reporting, coordination, and visibility into access governance activities, oversharing risks, and remediation progress.

Key Responsibilities

• Be a courageous safety leader, adhere to and sponsor safety and environmental rules and procedures
• Support SharePoint, Teams, and OneDrive access review activities, including tracking completion and compiling results
• Assist with identifying and reporting on oversharing risks and workspace governance issues
• Maintain governance records, exception logs, action trackers, and evidence repositories
• Prepare dashboards, metrics, and reporting packages for governance reviews and operational meetings
• Support control reviews, evidence collection, and remediation tracking activities
• Document procedures, job aids, and process improvements to support operational maturity
• Research Microsoft 365 governance capabilities, guidelines, and emerging access governance trends

Qualifications

• Currently pursuing an undergraduate degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Cybersecurity, Management Information Systems (MIS), or a related field; graduate students in Information Management Studies or Records Management are also encouraged to apply
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with an interest in data analysis, information management, and process development
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to work optimally with collaborators and represent IT needs across the business
• Ability to take initiative, work independently, and develop new processes in a fast-paced and evolving environment
• Experience with SharePoint and/or OneDrive would be an asset
• Strong attention to detail and ability to review, organize, and categorize information to identify high-risk areas
• Experience developing or improving processes, documentation, or workflows would be an asset
• Solid understanding of Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel and SharePoint
• Experience with training or public speaking would be an asset
• Spanish language skills would be considered an asset
• Commitment to fostering respectful and inclusive workplaces

Pay Range: CAD $4,108 - $5,183 per month

The actual amount offered is determined based on the successful candidate’s relevant experience, skills, and competencies and considers internal equity.
