Apps Dev Tech Lead Analyst- Vice President - Mississauga

The Applications Development Technology Lead Analyst is a senior level position responsible for establishing and implementing new or revised application systems and programs in coordination with the Technology team. The overall objective of this role is to lead applications systems analysis and programming activities.

Responsibilities:

• Design and develop business modules independently using J2EE and related frameworks.
• Have a strong understanding of standard development practices and implementation strategies.
• Be exposed to server-side coding and design principles and interactions with RESTful communication and Database.
• Have knowledge of Workflow technologies, an added advantage.
• Work as part of distributed teams.
• Provide expertise in application programming and ensure application design adheres to the overall architecture blueprint.
• Utilize advanced knowledge of system flow and develop standards for coding, testing, debugging, and implementation.
• Develop comprehensive knowledge of how areas of business, such as architecture and infrastructure, integrate to accomplish business goals.
• Serve as advisor or coach to mid-level developers and analysts, allocating work as necessary.
• Partner with multiple management teams to ensure appropriate integration of functions to meet goals, as well as identify and define necessary system enhancements to deploy new products and process improvements.
• Resolve variety of high‑impact problems and projects through in-depth evaluation of complex business processes, system processes, and industry standards.
• Provide in-depth analysis with interpretive thinking to define issues and develop innovative solutions.
• Appropriately assess risk when business decisions are made, demonstrating particular consideration for the firm’s reputation, safeguarding Citigroup, its clients and assets, by driving compliance with applicable laws, rules and regulations, adhering to policy, applying sound ethical judgment regarding personal behavior, conduct and business practices; and escalating, managing and reporting control issues with transparency.

Required Qualifications:

• Strong understanding of core Java, collections, multithreading, performance tuning, troubleshooting and deployment.
• Experience in core J2EE, Spring.
• Proficient in Oracle RDBMS.
• Strong knowledge of microservices, design patterns and techniques.
• Strong logical abilities and problem‑solving skills.
• Strong understanding of performance of Java‑based applications.
• Hands‑on and strong understanding of workflow technologies.
• Working knowledge of build and configuration tools such as Gradle and Maven.
• Familiarity with standard SDLC and Agile processes.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Solid understanding of SOA concepts and implementations.
• Experience with workflow technologies.
• Ability to prioritize and manage schedules under tight, fixed deadlines.
• Ability to produce professional, technically sound solutions.
• Strong writing, communication, time‑management, decision‑making, and basic task organization skills.

Education:

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information systems management, MS in a related field or related field preferred.
• Master’s degree preferred.
