Wetaskiwin Co-op is recruiting for the position of full-time Home Center Sales Associate at our very busy Home and Building Center, located at 4707 40th Ave in Wetaskiwin, Alberta.

Wetaskiwin Co-op is located in central Alberta operating in 9 locations in 5 communities of Wetaskiwin, Innisfail, Camrose, Edmonton and Falun. We operate in a variety of product lines including consumer hardware, building products, crop inputs, petroleum, liquor and feed manufacturing.

What you'll do:

Reporting to the Hardware Manager, the Home Center Sales Associate is a self-motivated individual who has strong attention to detail. This is a full-time permanent position eligible for benefits. Duties will include but are not limited to:

• Execute sales strategies that support the Wetaskiwin Co-op's vision of growth and sustainability.
• Responsible for building strong customer relationships and maintaining an open line of communication with customers and co-workers.
• Provide knowledgeable advice and guidance regarding products and services as well as support to resolve product or service issues.
• Ensure a clean and sanitary work environment.
• Alert for unauthorized removal of merchandise and equipment.
• Ensure the quality and condition of all merchandise meets store standards.
• Complete up-to-date in-house training and certifications via manuals and videos. Training will be provided to complete special projects, such as onsite or internal installation and staging of hardware products.
• Other duties as assigned.

• You have experience in a customer service environment with proven positive customer interactions.
• Experience in Hardware, Retail, and Building Products Sales is considered an asset.
• You quickly prioritize individual responsibilities, and effectively manage time under deadlines.
• You believe in building relationships and collaborating to deliver solutions that matter most, and you recognize the value that different perspectives bring to meet shared objectives.
• You have the willingness to learn about renovation supplies, home improvement processes, hand tools, and fireplaces/woodstoves. Training will be provided to strengthen product knowledge.
• You're honest and trustworthy, are results-oriented and strive to be the best in what you do.

Pay: $17.75-$24.00 per hour
