The Role

Matters include recovery actions (secured/unsecured), mortgage enforcement & power of sale, receiverships and CCAA/BIA issues, fraudulent conveyances, negotiable instruments/forgery claims.

What You’ll Do

• Manage files end‑to‑end: strategy, pleadings, motions, discoveries, mediations, trials/appeals.
• Draft and argue motions (including summary judgment, security/priority relief, injunctions).
• Advise institutional clients on risk, recovery strategy, and cost‑effective resolution.
• Work closely with partners and associates.
• Mentor juniors/staff and contribute to playbooks and client updates.

What You Bring

• At least 5 years of commercial litigation experience in Canada (commercial, banking/insolvency or civil).
• Comfortable in court; strong written advocacy and drafting skills.
• Proven file management and client communication skills.
• Asset: experience with BIA/CCAA, fraud/forgery, PPSA/priority issues, mortgage enforcement.
• Licensed and in valuable standing with the Law Society of Ontario; law society license required.
