Part Time Grades 5 to 12 Band Teacher

Vermilion Forks Elementary School seeks a part time teacher for Grades 5-12 Band, starting September 1, 2026. This role involves teaching supportive music education on Tuesdays and Thursdays.

In this small fraction of a full-time role at Nicola-Simikameen School District, you will engage with students in Grades 5-7 and Grades 8-12. Emphasizing adaptive learning, you'll implement strategies that cater to diverse student needs while providing a comprehensive music experience. A valid BC Teaching Certificate and a strong understanding of the BC Curriculum are essential.

Key Responsibilities: • Teach Grade 5 to 7 Band from 1:25 to 2:45 pm • Instruct Grade 8 to 12 Band from 3:30 to 5:00 pm • Adapt teaching materials for student needs • Foster positive relationships with students and staff • Support social-emotional learning needs

Requirements: • Valid BC Teaching Certificate required • Teaching category five or higher • Experience with grade-level students • Commitment to diversity and inclusive education • Strong interpersonal skills
