Topman Underground

Park Paving Ltd. has been locally owned and operated for over 50 years as one of the largest road construction contractors in Edmonton, and we are looking for three EXPERIENCED TOPMAN / TOPWOMAN  to join our CIVIL UNDERGROUND DIVISION. This position is a full -time seasonal role and offers competitive wage with benefits.

The primary responsibilities, duties, and expectations of this position include, but are not limited to:

• Strong working-knowledge of pipe lasers, transits. An understanding of proper bedding placement and pipe securement
• Ability to evaluate and adjust work plan based on ground conditions
• Ability to understands grades, general survey, and drawings
• Understand and implements proper rigging techniques onsite
• Have full understanding and compliance with City specification for the tasks you are completing
• Perform hole coring on structures.
• Set up core elevations on structures based on field measurements. In addition set up track lines, center lines, and hubs
• Monitoring of ground conditions and safely guide operators around utilities
• Assist in work planning which includes forecasting work tasks and prepping materials in advance
• Assist with crew supervision as directed
• Willingness to assist in various labour activities required such as setting up chains for rigging, operating small equipment, and installing precast structures
• Assist in equipment pre/post trip inspections and general maintenance

Requirements

• Valid Class 5 Driver's license
• Able to work outside in all weather conditions
• Willingness to work around live sanitary and storm sewers as needed
• Able to work Monday -Friday and when necessary overtime & weekends
• Valid Ground Disturbance 201 Standard training (Alberta) is an asset
• Valid Confined Space Monitor/Entry training is an asset

Pay Scale $32 - $38
