Security Guard – Lower Sackville, NS
Allied Universal is hiring a Security Guard to join our team in Lower Sackville, Nova Scotia.
Position Details
- Title: Security Guard
- Location: Lower Sackville, Nova Scotia
- Pay Rate: $18.50/hour
- Schedule: Rotational Swing Shift
- Hours: 7:00 p.m. – 7:00 a.m.
- Rotation: 4 days on / 4 days off (full availability required)
Overview
Allied Universal is seeking a dedicated Security Guard to support site security operations across our Nova Scotia locations. This role is ideal for a reliable and professional security officer who is confident in patrol duties, comfortable using technology, and able to respond effectively in dynamic situations.

Key Responsibilities
- Conduct regular patrols and monitor site security
- Respond to incidents, alarms, and emergency situations (medical, fire, disturbances, etc.)
- Control access to the site and verify employees, visitors, and contractors
- Complete daily logs, reports, and assigned security tasks
- Communicate professionally with site management and stakeholders
- Maintain a strong presence to deter theft, damage, and unsafe activity
- Use security systems, communication tools, and basic computer applications
Requirements
- Minimum 6 months experience in a security guard role
- Valid driver’s license
- Valid Ontario Security License
- First Aid & CPR certification
- Ability to work a full rotational overnight schedule
- Strong communication and customer service skills
- Comfortable using computers and wireless communication systems
- Eligible to work in Canada (up to 40 hours/week)
- High school diploma, GED, or equivalent experience
- Physically able to stand/walk for extended periods and lift up to 20 kg
