Maple is math software that combines the world's most powerful math engine with an interface that makes it extremely easy to analyze, explore, visualize, and solve mathematical problems.
Maple Flow is a mathematics tool that makes it easy for engineers to brainstorm, develop, and document their design calculations. Combining a simple, freeform interface with a comprehensive math engine, Maple Flow provides a whiteboard-style environment that automatically keeps calculations live as users refine, reposition, and develop their work.
We are looking for an experienced and motivated developer to join our team as a Graphical User Interface Developer and support Maple Flow development.
In this role, you will help us create powerful but easy-to-use user interfaces. You understand the elements that create an effective user experience in complex applications and possess the technical skills to make it a reality.
Key Responsibilities
- Analyzing requirements for new or enhanced user interface features.
- Specifying the design of new interface elements using mock-ups, prototypes, or written descriptions where appropriate.
- Carrying through with the design, implementation, and unit testing of application features.
Key Requirements
- A degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related discipline, or equivalent work experience.
- Strong programming skills, preferably in Java, C++, or C#.
- Proficiency in object-oriented design techniques.
- Strong sense of user-interface and user-experience design.
- Familiarity with multiple operating systems, including Windows, Mac OS X, and Linux.
- Previous GUI design and development experience is a definite asset.
- Familiarity with Maple, or other mathematical applications would also be considered an asset.
