Alberta Healthcare Operations – Dispatcher
Paladin Security is seeking reliable and detail-oriented Dispatchers to support our Alberta Healthcare Operations team. This role plays an important part in coordinating staffing and scheduling requirements across multiple healthcare sites while maintaining effective communication with frontline staff, leadership, and clients.
This is a fast-paced environment that requires strong communication, multitasking, and problem-solving skills. Successful candidates must be able to adapt quickly to changing operational needs while maintaining professionalism, accuracy, and attention to detail.
Position Details
- Casual / On Call position
- $18.00 per hour
- A flexible availability throughout the week is required
- Hours are not guaranteed
Responsibilities
- Create, update, and modify schedules for Security Guards across the healthcare contract.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date scheduling information in winTEAM .
- Coordinate with Client Service Managers to ensure staffing requirements and site information are current and accurate.
- Respond promptly to operational calls, staffing shortages, and last-minute scheduling changes.
- Communicate with guards, supervisors, and management regarding shift availability, vacation requests, book-offs, cancellations, and additional shift opportunities.
- Strategically plan schedules to maximize staffing efficiency while minimizing unnecessary overtime.
- Liaise with the Alberta Protective Services Operations Centre to ensure scheduling requirements are fulfilled.
- Monitor overtime on a pay-period basis and report findings to senior management.
- Maintain accuracy and professionalism while working in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
Requirements
- High School Diploma required; post-secondary education is considered an asset.
- Previous customer service, dispatch, or scheduling experience is considered an asset.
- Strong decision-making and problem-solving skills with the ability to prioritize effectively.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English.
- Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
- Ability to quickly learn and navigate new software systems.
- Strong organizational, multitasking, and time-management skills.
- Detail-oriented with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Friendly, professional, and dependable with a strong work ethic.
- Flexible and adaptable in a fast-paced operational environment.
Nice to Have
- Previous dispatch, call centre, or scheduling experience.
- Previous customer service experience.
- Experience with scheduling or workforce management software.
