Our client is a global, family-oriented manufacturing organization known for producing everyday food and beverage packaging products. With a workforce of over 10,000 employees and operations across multiple countries, the company has a long-standing reputation for quality, safety, and innovation.
They are currently seeking a Maintenance Mechanic (Licensed Industrial Millwright) to join their Scarborough facility and support reliable, high-performing production operations.

Compensation
- Starting Rate: $39.41/hour (fixed, non-negotiable)
Shift
- 8-hour / COP schedule
- All shifts required (days, afternoons, nights)
- Shift assignment based on union seniority and operational needs
About the Role
Behind every reliable production line is a strong maintenance team. In this role, you will be responsible for ensuring equipment operates safely, efficiently, and at peak performance within a fast-paced, unionized manufacturing environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Install, maintain, and repair manufacturing equipment using blueprints, manuals, and schematics
- Diagnose mechanical issues through visual, auditory, and operational inspection
- Dismantle, repair, and reassemble machinery components
- Maintain hydraulic, pneumatic, and piping systems
- Perform preventative maintenance and support production changeovers
- Maintain accurate maintenance records using ERP systems
- Collaborate with maintenance, production, and plant leadership teams
- Follow all safety, GMP, food safety, and quality standards
Qualifications
- Valid Ontario Industrial Millwright License (433A)
- Ability to read and interpret drawings and blueprints
- 2–3 years of experience as a Maintenance Mechanic (preferred)
- Strong working knowledge of hydraulics, pneumatics, and mechanical systems
- Ability to pass a technical/mechanical aptitude test
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
- Ability to meet physical demands (lifting, climbing, standing, varying temperatures)

- Unionized position (membership required after probation)
- Fast-paced manufacturing setting with strong focus on safety and quality
- Shift flexibility required due to rotating schedule and seniority-based assignments
