Our valued client, a key Oil & Gas producer are seeking a Rotating Equipment Engineer to join their team on a long term contract basis.
Job Description
- Review and provide relevant technical comments on RFQ/MR/RFP/Bids/Quotes.
- Manage rotating equipment (e.g. centrifugal pumps, compressors, steam turbines, gearboxes, etc.) inspection assignments for each of the individual POs assigned to him/her.
- Interface with internal and external stakeholders (reliability team, projects, engineering, supply management, and vendor) on a regular basis.
- Review Vendors and Sub-vendors’ ITPs and Quality/Test Procedures to ensure that they meet the requirements of the project.
- Select competent third part inspectors (TPI) and mentor them throughout the fabrication phase.
- Convene, coordinate and conduct the Pre-Inspection Meetings, preferably at the Vendors’ facility.
- Review Inspection Reports for compliance with assignment instructions and PO requirements.
- Distribute inspection reports, inspection findings and signed ITP in a timely manner to the Project team.
- Conduct and report on interim and ad-hoc inspection visits to Vendors and Sub-Vendors, as required by the project.
- Oversee and assist in the resolution of Non-conformance reports, fabrication issues, outstanding items happen during inspections and activity waivers raised against assigned POs.
- Review vendor technical documentation, QA reports and Manufacturer Data Book to ensure that they meet project requirements.
- Attend specialty inspections and witness tests on occasion if deemed necessary by the stakeholders.
- Verify invoices for inspection hours & distance by comparing with inspection reports.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Minimum of 5 years related experience.
- APEGA P.Eng endorsement is an asset.
- Calgary based position with traveling with Canada and US.
