Yard Attendant

Job Responsibility:

Arcola Co-op is hiring a permanent full time Yard Attendant at our Home Center Store location in Arcola SK.

What you'll do:

Reporting to the Lumber Manager, the successful applicant will be responsible for the completing day-to-day operational duties of the Lumber Department.

• Demonstrate day-to-day behaviours and actions that align with and strengthen the Co-operative's vision, mission, values, brand and focus on safety.
• Oversee adherence to brand and merchandising standards, marketing efforts, image standards, safety, and asset protection.
• Responsible for the procurement of merchandise and ensures all ordering schedules are followed, and inventory control programs meet customer requirements.
• Responsible for ensuring the proper receiving and warehousing procedures are in effect.
• Responsible for the care and use of forklifts, tools, delivery vehicles and other equipment in the yard and warehouse, including facility appearance.
• Yards, warehouses, offices, and public areas will be kept free of litter at all times.
• A plan for the safe, neat and orderly placement of stock will be followed in both warehouse and yard areas.
• Bulk pile lumber will be kept neat and tidy. Stock to be rotated when a new shipment is received.
• All products are to be contained in the allocated space.
• Duties will include responsibility for customer service, customer project quotations, budgets, sales, margins, supervising employees, overseeing delivery of products along with responsibility for overseeing ordering, receiving, managing inventory and merchandising.
• Other duties as assigned.

• Assist and advice customers for building projects by interpreting client input, documentation, specifications determine the costing and selling price associated to the building materials and manufactured components of the project.
• Experience with a lumber/hardware background being an asset.
