About this opportunity

The Conventional Operations team is seeking an experienced

Asset Integrity Technologist to play a key role in ensuring the safe, reliable, and compliant operation of our conventional assets. In this role, you will provide technical expertise in pressure equipment and pipeline integrity while partnering with Operations, Maintenance, and Engineering to manage asset integrity risks, support regulatory compliance, and drive continuous improvement across our operations.

What you’ll do

  • Execute the Pressure Equipment Integrity Management (PEIM) and Pipeline Integrity Management (PIM) programs to ensure the safe, reliable, and compliant operation of conventional assets.
  • Provide technical expertise in pressure equipment integrity, pipeline integrity, corrosion management, chemical treatment programs, inspection strategies, monitoring techniques, and failure analysis.
  • Ensure compliance with corporate standards and regulatory requirements by coordinating with regulatory agencies, supporting audits, and maintaining required integrity documentation.
  • Develop, implement, and maintain area-specific integrity plans, ensuring inspections, assessments, testing, and monitoring activities are completed in accordance with established schedules.
  • Review inspection findings and integrity data, assess and prioritize risks, and coordinate repairs, mitigation strategies, and corrective actions to maintain asset reliability.
  • Support turnaround planning and execution, Management of Change (MOC) processes, asset commissioning, incident investigations, and root cause analyses.
  • Partner with Operations, Maintenance, Engineering, contractors, and third-party service providers to effectively execute integrity programs and drive continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Champion a strong safety culture by promoting Cenovus Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) programs, participating in hazard assessments and risk management activities, and ensuring integrity work is completed safely, efficiently, and within approved budgets.

Who you are

Our ideal candidate will have the following minimum requirements:

  • Legally authorized to work in Canada
  • Technologist diploma in Materials, Chemical, Petroleum, Welding, or another related Engineering Technology discipline.
  • Minimum 4+ years of experience in a corrosion or asset integrity role within the oil and gas industry.
  • Alberta In-Service Inspector (ISI) and API 510 certification required.
  • API 570, API 653, and National Board certifications are considered assets.
  • Strong knowledge of pressure equipment and pipeline codes, regulations, and integrity management practices.
  • Experience with corrosion management, inspection programs, risk-based inspection (RBI), and integrity assessment methodologies is considered an asset.

As this position has been identified as safety sensitive, employment of a final candidate selected for this position will be conditional upon successful completion of required pre-employment medical and alcohol/drug assessments.

For this position you will be required to maintain a Class 5 driver's license, a satisfactory driving record, and adhere to the appropriate Company policies and guidelines. A driver's abstract will be one of the background checks requested in the pre-employment screening for the final candidate.
