Job Summary

The Senior Health Informatics Analyst will promote the integration of information technologies and clinical practice change initiatives that automate and/or enhance evidence-based clinical practices, access to patient/client information and clinical documentation via Electronic Health Record (EHR) system and other related clinical and administrative applications in collaboration with IT and clinical leadership.

The Senior Health Informatics Analyst will report to and be responsible for assisting the Director of Information Technology with the planning and managing the operations of the clinical informatics portfolio including providing project completion, change management, operational support and hands-on training for clinical information systems. As a key member of the IT department, you'll play a pivotal role in ensuring that technology amplifies the efficiency and efficacy of patient care. Your dedication to this position will drive forward the IT infrastructure that bolsters the backbone of our organization. Job Function and Duties:

  • Engage in executing goals and objectives of the Health Informatics Strategy
  • Contributes to the documentation of procedures to support current and future Health Informatics team members in engaging in consistent practices.
  • Develops and implements the policies and procedure documents that support clinical applications and safe, efficient, and privacy-focused client care.
  • Collaborate with clinical staff to understand their IT needs, providing solutions that enhance patient care and streamline clinical processes.
  • Plans, oversees, performs, and evaluates testing of any system content or design changes, upgrades or enhancements.
  • Ensure that health information technology and applications support clinical practice, as well as safe and effective patient care;
  • Interprets, clarifies, prioritizes, and responds to requests for system content or design changes, upgrades and enhancements including assessing the impact of the request on all integrated systems and on the workflow for Clinicians.
  • Plans, oversees, performs, and evaluates testing of any system content or design changes, upgrades or enhancements.
  • Responsible for clinical informatics application changes as a super administrator of the respective applications
  • Focus on the optimization, troubleshooting, and innovative use of our EMR and other related system.
  • Collaborating closely with both the IT and clinical teams, you will design custom analytics and reports from KIPU that empower clinical decision-making.
  • Engages in the decision-making process of future state processes/workflows
  • Leads the training planning and implementation to support go-live as needed for KIPU upgrades and large-scale implementations.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in health informatics, Information Technology, or a related field. Or equivalent experience.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience working with EMR systems
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience, implementing clinical information systems and managing teams in a health care or similarly complex environment
  • Strong IT skills, including database management, system integration, and troubleshooting.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with an ability to communicate complex technical issues to non-technical staff.
  • Knowledge of clinical workflows and processes. Ability to understand current state processes and manage the design future state workflows
  • Ability to translate communication and facilitate common understanding across clinicians and information systems/technology professionals.
  • Experience with managing process redesign related to major clinical systems implementations and delivering clinical change.
  • Familiarity with data privacy regulations and best practices.

Nice to haves

  • Ability to communicate in French is an asset.
  • Knowledge of/Experience KIPU Health EMR
  • Experience in a hospital or large clinic setting.
  • Certifications related to KIPU or other EMR systems.
  • Strong analytical skills and experience in generating clinical reports.

Working Conditions:

  • Usually work regular business hours but may require evenings and weekends to complete projects or maintenance on systems.
  • Participate in after-hours on call program for response to urgent issues.
  • May require travel to remote sites, conferences and/or seminars.
  • Lifting items up to 22 pounds may be routinely required.
