Position Summary

The Interim Management CFO is responsible for helping stabilize and restore financial discipline within an organization undergoing operational or performance challenges. This executive will provide hands-on leadership across accounting, controllership, cash management, and financial operations while partnering closely with the executive team to protect enterprise value. Ideal candidates bring deep manufacturing finance expertise, strong command of cost accounting, and a proven track record leading turnarounds in complex, multi-site environments. This individual serves as a trusted advisor to private equity firms, portfolio companies, boards, lenders, and corporate leadership teams by providing experienced executive talent to address critical leadership, turnaround, transformation, growth, integration, restructuring, succession, and special-situation needs.

Requirements

Key Responsibilities

• Stabilize the finance function by assessing current processes, identifying gaps, and implementing immediate corrective actions across accounting, reporting, and internal controls
• Lead all controllership activities , including month-end close, reconciliations, inventory accounting, cost accounting, and financial statement accuracy
• Diagnose root-cause issues impacting profitability, inventory accuracy, cost structure, and financial reporting reliability
• Implement turnaround initiatives such as cost reduction, margin improvement, pricing discipline, and overhead rationalization
• Rebuild financial processes including budgeting, forecasting, KPI dashboards, and performance cadence routines
• Partner with operations leadership to align production, inventory, and supply chain decisions with financial realities
• Provide transparency to ownership and lenders through clear reporting, risk identification, and recovery plans
• Strengthen internal controls to ensure compliance, reduce errors, and prevent financial leakage

Qualifications

Education

• Bachelor's degree required.
• Advanced degree (MBA, Master's, or equivalent) preferred.

Experience

• 15+ years of progressive finance leadership experience, including Controller or CFO roles in manufacturing
• Proven success leading turnarounds , restructurings, or distressed-asset stabilization
• Deep expertise in cost accounting , inventory management, and plant-level financial operations
• Strong command of GAAP, internal controls, and financial reporting integrity
• Hands-on leadership style with the ability to dive into accounting details while managing executive-level priorities
• Demonstrated ability to quickly assess complex situations and implement decisive corrective actions
• Experience partnering with Private Equity or lender groups preferred
• Exceptional communication skills with the ability to influence cross-functional leaders in high-pressure environments
• High adaptability and resilience; comfortable operating with incomplete information and urgent timelines
• Willingness to be on-site and fully embedded in the business during the interim period
