Tattoo Apprentice

Job Responsibility:

We are currently looking for one personable and motivated apprentice to join our team

At Black Castle we provide needles, ink, and other supplies to the Apprentice as well as use of a clean safe environment to learn and work in at a licensed Tattoo shop. As the Tattoo Apprentice progresses they will receive reviews by their Mentor evaluating their performance of Apprentice tasks, assignments and projects.

As an apprentice moves to Skin they will start receiving a portion of the tattoo cost, please note the time it takes to move to Skin varies on how fast you learn. The more you put into your apprentiship projects and lessions the faster you'll progress . We want you to succeed and become a long term artist at our studio. Once you pass your apprenticship you'll move to Jr artist then to artist. Once you become a Jr artist you be given the responsibility of your own station.

Requirements

• Strong artistic skills and the ability to draw and design original tattoo concepts (Portfolio)
• Excellent communication and customer service skills
• Motivated and passionate
• Eager to learn attitude and good attendance is a must.
• Must be approcable and kind

• Proper Hygiene Practices
• Client Intake Procedures & Documentation
• How to Create Stencils by Hand and using iPad Pro or Tablet
• How to Prep a Client for Stencil
• Proper Stencil Application
• Stencil Application Common Mistakes
• Efficient Sanitary Station Set Up and Tear Down Practices
• How to Properly Hold and use a machine
• Stretching Techniques
• Basic Lining and Shading Tattooing Techniques
• Proper Body Positioning for Tattoos on Different Areas of the Body
• How Explain Proper Aftercare
• Skin Contraindications to Look Out For

Much of our booking are done over social media platforms as we are an appointment baised studio so experence in platforms such as instagram, facebook and e-mail isn't a must but definitely helps.

If you do not currently have an instagram you will be required to create one and actively post on it .

We understand many people aren't able to just leave their jobs to pursue an apprentiship full time as an apprentiship is unpaied. If that's the case please include your current availability.

Our final goal for you to grow and eventually become an artist at our studio full time .
