Outreach Support Worker

Build Up Saskatoon (BUS) is a construction social-enterprise within Quint Development that seeks to employ individuals who experience multiple barriers to employment including issues such as previous contact with the justice system, housing insecurity, lack of education and experience, etc.

The Outreach Support Worker helps develop strategies designed to reduce personal or professional barriers in the lives of our participants.

DUTIES:
Participate in hiring, onboarding and intake processes of crew
With crew, identify personal and professional goals and develop strategies for achieving them
Identify and address limiting patterns and barriers for crew
Maintain case files to support ongoing follow-up
Identify and understand community services, education and training opportunities/resources
Identify and schedule skill training plan including tickets, certification and licensing
Develop job transition processes for participants exiting the program, encompassing employment, educational or social support options
Develop and maintain networks with local stakeholders/agencies to enhance transitional opportunities
Occasional crew transport as needed

Ability to establish priorities and proactively track and report data

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
Knowledge of the systemic issues of poverty and barriers faced by marginalized people seeking employment
Extensive knowledge of community resources
Familiar with Harm Reduction practices
Experience in a related human/social service role
Education/Training in a related field

CONDITION OF EMPLOYMENT:
Valid drivers license and access to a vehicle, CRC with Vulnerable Sector Check
