Manage capital and continuous improvement projects for Ingredion, applying technical engineering, budgeting, and commissioning expertise at Cedar Rapids.This Senior Project Engineer leads engineering phases from concept development through detailed design, construction, startup, training, and manufacturing handover. The position works with plant teams, external engineering partners, contractors, and vendors to deliver value-driven projects. Responsibilities include compliance, safety, environmental stewardship, cost control, schedules, documentation, and design verification.Key Responsibilities:
Lead capital projects through concept, design, construction, and startupPrepare estimates, proposals, documentation, training, and project closureEnsure engineering, regulatory, company, safety, and environmental complianceUse Root Cause Analysis and Continuous Improvement methodologies appropriatelyConfirm completed projects achieve established design objectivesRequirements:
Degree in Applied Sciences, Mechanical, Chemical, or Food EngineeringFive or more related years preferred in food or manufacturingSound technical ability and excellent problem-solving skillsExperience with MS Windows, Microsoft Word, and ExcelAbility to build consensus and influence change through communicationBring structured project execution, compliance knowledge, and engineering judgment to Ingredion’s capital improvement work in Cedar Rapids.
