The City of Dawson Creek invites applications for a casual RCMP Guard. Under the direction of the Deputy Corporate Officer, RCMP Municipal Employee Supervisor, or designate, the Guard is responsible for the care and monitoring of prisoners within the cellblock. Availability on evenings, weekends, and statutory holidays is required.

Please note: Applicants must have been residing in Canada for the past five years and hold a permanent resident status at minimum. In addition, due to the shortened term of this assignment, an active Enhanced Security Clearance is required.

What You’ll Do:

• Completes forms and records required relating to prisoners’ incarceration and release.
• Conducts regular surveillance and monitoring of prisoners.
• Arranges to meet prisoners’ needs and privileges.
• Maintains and cleans cellblock.
• As required, assist with prisoner searches as required in conjunction with and under the supervision of an RCMP member.

Requirements:

• Completion of Grade 12 education or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Active Security/Reliability Clearance and Criminal Record Search.
• Ability to work 12-hour rotating day/night shifts.
