Senior Business Analyst, Capital Markets
Job Type: Contract
Contract Duration: 4–7 months (with potential extension)
Pay Rate/Salary: Up to $125/hr DOE.
Location: Canada / US Remote (must work MST hours)

Our client is a leading institutional investment organization seeking experienced Senior Business Analysts to support strategic initiatives across its Capital Markets business. Working alongside investment professionals and technology teams, you will play a key role in enhancing investment processes, workflows, and systems supporting a complex investment portfolio.
Your New Role
As a Senior Business Analyst, you will partner with portfolio managers, traders, operations teams, and technology stakeholders to drive business analysis activities across investment management initiatives. You will gather, document, and translate business requirements into functional specifications while supporting the implementation and enhancement of front-to-back investment workflows and platforms. This role requires deep knowledge of capital markets, investment life-cycles, and buy-side operations.
What You Need to Do
- Collaborate with portfolio managers, traders, operations, and technology teams to elicit and document business requirements.
- Analyze and map end-to-end investment workflows across public and/or private market investments.
- Translate business requirements into functional specifications for investment systems and business processes.
- Support implementation, configuration, testing, and enhancement activities for investment management platforms.
- Identify process improvement opportunities and recommend solutions to optimize investment operations.
- Support initiatives involving liquidity management, investment operations, and complex financial instruments.
- Facilitate stakeholder workshops, requirements sessions, and business process reviews.
What You'll Need to Succeed:
- 5+ years of experience as a Business Analyst within Capital Markets environments.
- 5+ years of experience across the end-to-end life cycle of public market or private market securities and investments.
- Demonstrated expertise in buy-side investment capabilities, workflows, and supporting technologies.
- Proven experience working directly with portfolio managers, traders, and operations teams.
- Strong requirements gathering, business process analysis, and functional specification experience.
- Experience supporting investment management platforms such as Aladdin, eFront, SimCorp Dimension, Bloomberg AIM/PORT, or similar.
- Experience with cleared and OTC derivatives, repos, and other complex financial products is considered an asset.
- Experience supporting liquidity management workflows and solutions is highly desirable.
- Strong stakeholder management, communication, and analytical skills.
