Location: Vancouver, Canada Job Type: Full-Time Salary: $80,000 - $100,000, depending on experience

Job Summary: The Board Secretary to the Chairman is a critical role requiring exceptional organizational skills, a deep understanding of financial management, and expertise in corporate governance. This role supports our Chairman directly and coordinates board operations, integrating strategic financial insights into day-to-day executive and governance activities.

Key Responsibilities:

• Board Meeting Coordination:
• Manage logistics, scheduling, and documentation for board meetings, including the preparation of financial reports and presentations.
• Accurately record minutes and track resolutions to ensure compliance with legal and regulatory standards.
• Financial Documentation and Analysis:
• Prepare detailed financial analyses and reports for board review, drawing on experience similar to that of a financial controller or investment manager.
• Ensure financial information and forecasts are presented clearly to assist the board and Chairman in strategic decision-making.
• Regulatory Compliance and Record Keeping:
• Maintain up-to-date records of board proceedings and compliance documents, ensuring adherence to financial regulations and corporate governance standards.
• Oversee the management of corporate documents related to finance and compliance.
• Executive Support:
• Provide strategic and administrative support to the Chairman, managing the schedule, correspondence, and commitments with a focus on optimizing time and resources.
• Act as a liaison between the Chairman and other executives, ensuring alignment of financial strategies and executive actions.

Qualifications:

• Education: Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or Business Administration; MBA or CPA highly preferred.
• Experience: At least 8 years of relevant experience in financial management roles such as a financial consultant, investment manager, or corporate controller, with a strong background in preparing for and managing board meetings.
• Skills & Competencies:
• Expertise in financial analysis, budgeting, and strategic financial planning.
• Proven track record of managing financial documentation and compliance.
• Excellent organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills, capable of handling confidential matters with discretion.
• Strong leadership skills and the ability to work effectively with high-level stakeholders.
