Commercial Estimator

Job Overview

We are seeking an experienced Commercial Estimator / Project Manager specializing in aluminum windows, doors, storefront, curtain wall, and glazing systems.

This is a dual-role position responsible for preparing accurate estimates and managing projects from the bidding stage through successful completion. The successful candidate will have strong experience with Kawneer aluminum systems or equivalent and be comfortable using Google Workspace on a daily basis.

Responsibilities

Estimating

• Review architectural drawings, specifications, elevations, and addenda.
• Perform detailed material take-offs for aluminum systems, storefront, curtain wall, entrances, doors, and insulated glass units.
• Calculate material, labour, fabrication, and installation costs.
• Obtain supplier pricing and prepare competitive proposals.
• Identify scope gaps, project risks, and value-engineering opportunities.

Project Management

• Manage projects from award through completion and closeout.
• Coordinate shop drawings, submittals, and approvals.
• Order materials and track supplier lead times.
• Schedule fabrication and installation crews.
• Coordinate with general contractors, architects, suppliers, and field teams.
• Monitor project budgets and costs.
• Process change orders and maintain accurate project documentation.
• Maintain clear communication and documentation using Google Workspace.

Qualifications & Experience

• 3+ years of experience in commercial glazing, aluminum systems estimating, and/or project management.
• Strong knowledge of Kawneer aluminum framing systems or equivalent.
• Ability to accurately read and interpret architectural and shop drawings.
• Experience performing detailed material take-offs and preparing estimates.
• Proficient with Google Workspace, including Docs, Sheets, Drive, Gmail, and Calendar.
• Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.
• Valid driver's license and willingness to travel to job sites as required.
