Site Description: Morgentaler Clinic has been providing safe and compassionate abortion services in Canada for over 40 years. They offer a wide range of abortion care and related services, including counselling and contraceptive education.        

Site: Morgentaler Clinic            

Status: Part Time                                                    

Pay Rate: $19.72/ hr.                     

Hours: Fridays (0730 -1730) and Saturdays (0730 - 1700 hrs)

Averaging Agreement: Overtime is Averaging Agreement (AA) after 88 hours

Essential Job Functions:

• Provide courteous, respectful, and non-judgmental customer service to patients, visitors, and staff while maintaining confidentiality and professionalism
• Communicate effectively with diverse individuals, demonstrating strong interpersonal and conflict-resolution skills
• Conduct regular patrols of the clinic and surrounding areas to ensure a safe and secure environment
• Monitor and operate CCTV, alarm systems, and access control, reporting any suspicious activity immediately
• Control entry points and restricted areas, ensuring only authorized individuals are granted access
• Respond promptly to emergencies, incidents, and disturbances, supporting staff during urgent situations or evacuations
• Maintain a calm and professional demeanor when handling high-pressure or emotionally sensitive situations
• Use de-escalation techniques to manage conflicts and ensure safe, respectful interactions
• Greet and assist visitors by providing directions and ensuring compliance with site procedures
• Complete clear, accurate, and detailed reports on incidents, daily activities, and observations
• Work collaboratively with clinic staff and emergency services to maintain a coordinated safety approach
• Ensure compliance with site policies and safety protocols, addressing violations appropriately
• Escalate and communicate all concerns or operational issues to the Operations Manager in a timely manner

Prerequisites:   

• Valid Security License for the province of Ontario
• Valid First Aid & CPR Level C
• Immunization records for Mumps, Measles, Rubella, Varicella , Covid Vaccine two doses, and two step TB skin test
• English (oral and written) fluency is a must
• One year experience in security, or law enforcement is an asset
• Legally authorized to work in Canada
• Must be able to provide certifications in Use of Force (UOF) and Management of Aggressive Behavior (MOAB)
• Applicants who do not possess these certifications can opt into Paladin's Use of Force (UOF)/Management of Aggressive Behavior (MOAB) training program prior to their onboarding training to ensure they meet the requirements of the position

Please be aware: The UOF/MOAB certification is not paid as it is a pre-employment requisite; however, Paladin will cover all the costs of the training with a 6-month commitment to the position/availability
