What is the Opportunity?

The Shoreline Power Group is a fully integrated Joint Venture of Aecon and AtkinsRéalis located in Kincardine, Ontario. Shoreline Power Group is the centerpiece of the Major Component Replacement (MCR) program which replaces the main components of 6 reactors at the Bruce Power Nuclear Generating Station. The scope of work includes the removal and replacement of calandria tubes, pressure tubes, and feeders as well as construction management and trade labor. This project is part of Bruce Power’s Life Extension Program, which will allow Bruce Power’s CANDU units to continue to operate safely through to 2064.

Reporting to the Materials Manager, the Material Lead is responsible for leading and coordinating material management activities supporting the Bruce Power Nuclear site. The role oversees material requisitioning, procurement interfaces, receiving, inventory control, material storage compliance and delivery status to ensure materials and services are available in accordance with project schedules, quality requirements and operational priorities. The Material Lead provides day-to-day direction to Material Coordinators and serves as the primary interface between Materials, Procurement, Engineering, Quality and the project team.

What You'll Do Here:

• Lead the preparation, consolidation and coordination of material requisitions for Nuclear and Non-Nuclear materials, equipment and services.
• Review material and service requisitions prepared by Material Coordinators to verify completeness, accuracy, appropriate authorization, quality assurance requirements and alignment with project needs before submission.
• Ensure SAP requisitions include complete descriptions, quantities, drawings, technical specifications, special purchasing instructions, CAT IDs and other applicable client or project requirements.
• Establish daily and weekly material priorities based on project schedules, construction needs, critical-path activities and emerging operational requirements.
• Provide day-to-day direction, guidance and task coordination to Material Coordinators and other assigned Materials personnel.
• Monitor team workload and requisition status, redistribute priorities where required and escalate resource or schedule concerns to the Materials Manager.
• Serve as the primary Materials liaison between the project team, Engineering, Procurement, Quality, Construction and Operations to support timely, quality-compliant material purchases and issue resolution.
• Coordinate with Procurement to monitor purchase order status, material deliveries, delivery costs, expedite requirements and critical site deliveries.
• Lead the identification and resolution of material shortages, documentation deficiencies, delivery risks and receiving discrepancies that could affect project execution.
• Oversee receiving activities, including inspection coordination, inventory control, material identification, SAP goods receipt processing and the resolution of receiving issues.
• Oversee and verify completion of N055 material storage inspections, ensuring identified deficiencies are documented, communicated and addressed.
• Review material status information and provide regular reports, forecasts and priority updates to the Materials Manager and project team.
• Requisition and PO approval based on Limits of Authority.
• Support the development and maintenance of material trackers, reporting tools, work instructions and standardized processes.
• Identify opportunities to improve material requisitioning, receiving, storage, traceability and reporting processes.
• Support the preparation and coordination of subcontract packages for submission to the Subcontracts Coordinator.
• Liaise with authorized client representatives, where required, for approvals, reporting, material status and issue resolution.
• Recommend suppliers or sourcing options to Procurement based on operational requirements and previous project experience.
• Support onboarding, training and knowledge transfer for Material Coordinators and other assigned Materials personnel.
• Perform requisition or purchase order review and approval within delegated Limits of Authority, where applicable.
• Act on behalf of the Materials Manager for designated day-to-day material coordination activities when assigned.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

What You Bring to the Team:

• 5 to 10 years of experience in the nuclear construction industry in a procurement or project coordination role.
• Completion of a Materials and Operations Management program at the college or university level is an asset.
• Enrollment in or completion of the SCMP Accreditation Program is preferred.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office applications.
• Strong planning, decision-making, negotiation and time management skills.
• Ability to meet deadlines and manage priorities effectively.
• Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills.
• Familiarity with Bruce Power and/or OPG catalogue ID requirements is an asset.
• Working knowledge of Nuclear Codes & Standards as they relate to procurement activities, including but not limited to ASME Section III, ASME NCA-4000, ASME NQA-1, CSA N285.0, CSA N286-05 and CSA Z299 Series requirements.
• Basic knowledge of other material/component codes and standards is an asset (e.g., ASME Section II, ASTM and CSA).
• Knowledge of SAP is an asset.

Reason for vacancy: Replacement 

Salary range: $80,000 - $90,000

Individual pay is determined based on several factors, including work location, education, experience, unique skills and job conditions. Other considerations may include certifications, specialized training, and the complexity or scope of the role.
