The Department of Medicine, Service of Cardiology at Niagara Health (NH) seeks a highly motivated physician with a passion for providing the highest quality care. The selected candidate will have a proven track record of innovation and a commitment to exemplary patient care.
Applicants should be certified (or eligible for certification) by the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada or the American Board of Internal Medicine (Cardiology) and must be licensed (or eligible for licensure) in Ontario through the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Ontario. Applicants with interests in general cardiology, echocardiography, and heart failure are especially encouraged to apply.
Niagara Health offers a comprehensive and advanced cardiac program. The successful candidate will join a robust cardiology team providing care supported by:
- Cardiac catheterization laboratory
- Pacemaker program
- Full-spectrum non‑invasive cardiac diagnostics, including:
- Transthoracic and transesophageal echocardiogram
- Routine and pharmacologic stress testing
- Exercise stress echocardiography
- Nuclear myocardial perfusion imaging
- Holter and event monitoring
- Cardiac CT angiography
- Cardiac MRI
These resources support timely diagnosis, advanced management strategies, and collaborative care across the continuum.

A Practice‑Friendly Jurisdiction – Ontario continues to be a favorable province for cardiac diagnostics, with no current moratorium on echocardiography, enabling cardiologists to provide uninterrupted and accessible imaging services to patients.
Current group:
- 12 Cardiologists
Call:
- Overnight call approximately 3 nights per month
The Practice:
- Hospital rotations include daytime cardiology consultation service, Level 2 CCU, stress testing, heart function clinic, holter monitor interpretation and echo coverage
- Competitive compensation with no overhead
Academic Affiliations: The medical school has expanded to a regional campus in Niagara, located at Brock University. Students at the Niagara Regional Campus complete their clinical rotations in one of the six area hospitals with teaching done by highly skilled and motivated hospital physicians. Opportunities for strengthening and building strong academic partnerships are a priority. Niagara Health supports research and offers opportunities to lead research projects local to the hospital and division.

- Hamilton Health Sciences – 1 hour away
- Satellite cath lab located at St. Catharine’s General Hospital
Requirements
- Independent license with the College of Physicians & Surgeons of Ontario (CPSO)
- FRCP(C) in Cardiology or American Board of Internal Medicine Cardiology
- Eligible to work in Canada without restrictions
- Proficiency in both official languages (English and French) will be considered an asset
