Replacement Position\n\nPrincipal Duties \u0026 Responsibilities\n\n * Design and implementation of multimedia drivers on different OS such as Android, AGL, QNX, hypervisors\n * Design and implement low level video encoding and decoding drivers on Qualcomm HW\n * Working on multimedia frameworks such as codec2, Gstreamer, OMX etc\n * Closely collaborate with product owners and domain/technology experts to define the specifications, lead the software design/implementation, and integrate/validate software in a larger system.\n * Actively engage with Automotive OEMs, Tier-1s and ISVs to implement solutions based on of Qualcomm Automotive platforms.\n\n\n\nPreferred Qualifications\n\n * 4+ years Software Engineering or related work experience.\n * Hands on experience with embedded systems and RTOSs on ARM CPUs, with a focus on Linux and Android. Linux kernel knowledge is high recommended.\n * Solid hands-on software design and development experience on complex embedded computing platforms.\n * Strong programming experience in C/C++ , as well as hands-on experience debugging complex embedded software.\n * Experience using industry standard development tools - e.g. tool-chains, IDEs, configuration management etc.\n * Ability to contribute to all phases of software development architecture design, implementation, validation and deployment.\n * Demonstrated ability to work with engineers, partners and customers, and across the different geographical sites, timezones, and technology domains.\n * Demonstrated embedded system software development experience including kernels, device drivers and board-support packages. \n * Linux and Android multimedia software stack such as Android HAL, ALSA, V4L2, GLES, Wayland, WFD, Codec2. QualCOMM SoC multimedia application/driver development experience is very helpful\n * Experience designing complex fault-tolerant safety systems and designing in accordance to industry standard specifications (eg. ISO26262, ASPICE).\n * Working knowledge of operating systems like Linux user mode and kernel mode and other RTOSs\n * Knowledge of virtualization methods and implementation on ARM bases systems\n * Excellent verbal and written communication skills\n\n\n\nPhysical Requirements\n\n * Frequently transports between offices, buildings, and campuses up to \u00bd mile.\n * Frequently transports and installs equipment up to 5 lbs.\n * Performs required tasks at various heights (e.g., standing or sitting).\n * Monitors and utilizes computers and test equipment for more than 6 hours a day.\n * Continuous communication which includes the comprehension of information with colleagues, customers, and vendors both in person and remotely\n\n\n\nMinimum Qualifications:\n\n\u2022 Bachelor\u0027s degree in Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field and 2+ years of Software Engineering or related work experience. \nOR \nMaster\u0027s degree in Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field and 1+ years of Software Engineering or related work experience. \nOR \nPhD in Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field. \n \n\u2022 2+ years of experience with Programming Language such as C, C++, Java, Python, etc.\n\nApplicants: Qualcomm is an equal opportunity employer.
