Subway Sandwich Artist - Dalhousie

We are seeking Sandwich Artistis to join our team at Subway in the Killam Library on the Dalhousie University campus! At Subway, our Sanwhich Artistis are the heart of our store! You are the first person our guests see, and you set the tone for a fantastic visit.

In this role, you’ll greet guests, guide them through creating their custom subs, wraps, and salads, and ensure every meal is prepared fresh, fast, and accurately. Job Responsibilities

• Order Customization: Greet guests warmly, take orders accurately, and build custom sandwiches, wraps, and salads to guest specifications and Subway brand standards.

• Food Prep: Wash, slice, and prepare fresh vegetables, meats, and baked goods following strict food safety and handling standards.

• Cashiering: Handle Point-of-Sale (POS) register transactions accurately, processing cash, debit, and credit card payments.

• Sanitation & Cleaning: Keep food prep areas, counters, dining spaces, and equipment sanitized and spotless throughout the shift.

• Restocking & Inventory: Replenish prep line ingredients, paper products, and beverages, helping unpack and organize stock room deliveries.

Qualifications

• Previous food service experience is an asset
• Experience working with Subway or similar franchise an asset
• Valid WHMIS and Food Safe (Basic or Advanced), First Aid Certification is an asset
• Knowledge of and commitment to upholding high standards of food safety and hygiene.
• Additional certification may be required by work location
• Ability to work effectively and efficiently supervised and unsupervised
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with a genuine desire to provide outstanding customer service.
• Ability to work effectively as part of a team, collaborating with colleagues to ensure smooth operations.

This role may have physical demands including, but not limited to, lifting, bending, pushing, pulling and/or extended walking and standing. This role may also require uniforms and/or usage of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
