Civil Project Superintendent- Kelowna

Emil Anderson Construction (EAC) Inc. is seeking experienced Civil Project Superintendents to join our team. These persons would be based out of the Okanagan but will be required to travel for work projects.

Responsibilities:

• Reporting to the Project Manager, the Project Superintendent is on-site providing daily leadership and direction of our civil construction projects.


• Primary accountabilities include, but are not limited to:


• Primary site representative for the organization, responsible for all site level client, public, labour and subcontractor interface;


• Leadership of day-to-day on-site activities;


• Ensuring all work is completed in accordance with contract requirements and specifications;


• Effectively implementing project plans including site safety plan, quality plan, environmental plan, and traffic management plan;


• Scheduling, planning and resource allocation on the project, ensuring project plans are followed;


• Ensuring daily, weekly and monthly reporting is completed in an accurate and timely manner;


• Advising the Project Manager of any changed conditions encountered on the site and suggesting appropriate course of action;


• Continual optimization of all works to enhance safety, profitability, and quality;


• Coordinating labour and equipment requirements with the General Superintendent;


• Coordinating equipment servicing and repairs with mechanical operations;


• Following collective agreement requirements, and coordinating with union business agents.

Qualifications:

• 5+ years of experience working in the construction industry


• 5+ years of experience in a supervisory position


• Experience with difficult access grading and rock work


• Experience working in a unionized environment is an asset


• Multi-discipline bridge experience an asset


• Gold Seal Certification is an asset

Supplemental pay types:

Bonus pay

The salary range for this position will be discussed during the interview stage, taking into consideration candidate qualifications and experience. In addition, if on assignments away from your base office, you will be eligible for living out allowance (LOA) or be provided camp accommodations and meals. The LOA is calculated on a project basis to cover room costs plus meal allowance. While assigned to a project you may be eligible for a project specific salary uplift, calculated based on project conditions such as crew schedule, rotation schedule and shift start time. Project specific salary top ups may range from 0% to 25%.
