Director of PPC and SEO

Lead PPC and SEO strategy remotely for Blacksmith Agency across the USA, Canada, or South Africa. Own department performance, budgets, and client outcomes.
As Director of Search Marketing, you manage the PPC strategist and SEO strategist while setting the department’s quality standards. You guide channel strategy, assess Google Ads, GA4, Search Console, Meta, and Microsoft Ads work, and direct account escalations. This is a management seat, not a campaign-building individual contributor role.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead PPC and SEO strategists through reviews and development
- Set standards for audits, reporting, and quality checks
- Own client results and reporting accuracy across channels
- Diagnose at-risk accounts and direct corrective work
- Set channel strategy, budgets, sales commitments, and hiring plans
Requirements:
- Seven-plus years across paid media and SEO
- Management experience owning reviews and performance decisions
- Agency experience carrying many accounts simultaneously
- Working depth across Google Ads, GA4, and search platforms
- Experience turning around an account and explaining results
