Estimator, Building Construction Home Hardware Location 155 COMMERCIAL ST. Berwick, NS Salary 18.00 to 25.00 hourly (To be negotiated) / 80 hours bi-weekly Full time Day, Weekend Starts as soon as possible Benefits: Health benefits, Financial benefits, Other benefits Languages English Education Secondary (high) school graduation certificate or equivalent experience Experience 1 year to less than 2 years Work must be completed at the physical Location. There is no option to work remotely. Work setting Estimating Responsibilities: Prepare estimates of labour and/or material costs Read blueprints, drawings and specifications to determine work requirements Operate CADD and other computer software systems Create and submit estimate reports, quote sheets and bids forms Utilize quantity take-off procedures Prepare and maintain directory of supplies and trade contractors Liaise, consult and communicate with engineers, architects, owners, contractors and subcontractors on changes and adjustments to cost estimates Read and interpret blueprints, maps, drawings and specifications Evaluate and recommend appropriate building and construction materials Experience and specialization Computer and technology knowledge Estimating packages Take-off packages Spreadsheet AutoCAD MS Excel MS Word Type of experience Commercial and/or industrial construction Residential construction Contractors Additional information Transportation/travel information Own transportation Own vehicle Valid driver's licence Work conditions and physical capabilities Fast-paced environment Work under pressure Tight deadlines Attention to detail Ability to distinguish between colours Sound discrimination Sitting Combination of sitting, standing, walking Standing for extended periods Own tools/equipment Steel-toed safety boots Personal suitability Client focus Excellent oral communication Excellent written communication Flexibility Organized Team player Proactive Benefits Health benefits Dental plan Health care plan Vision care benefits Financial benefits Group insurance benefits Life insurance Registered Retirement Savings Plan (RRSP) Other benefits Free parking available Parking available Until: 2026-03-18
