Primary Objective of the PositionThe Fleet Engineer position is a supporting role within aircraft maintenance & engineering. The primary responsibility is to support and assist the Manager of Engineering in effectively managing and monitoring the day‑to‑day fleet aircraft maintenance requirements, ensuring that both technical dispatch and operational efficiencies are met in accordance with Cargojet’s MCM / MPM Manual & Technical documentation.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities
Provide initial assessment for Service Bulletins and Airworthiness Directives.
Evaluation and preparation of cost/benefit analysis for Service Bulletins and other technical information.
Disseminate technical information to staff as required through implementation of fleet campaigns.
Provide technical support to MCC and materials control for rotable repair work scopes.
Assist in work specification development for engine shop visits, coordination and oversight of heavy maintenance activities.
Assist the Reliability Program and provide delay analysis and corrective action programs.
Provide technical input to planning for heavy maintenance.
Assist with aircraft weight and balance control and maintain NAV/DATA/GPS Terrain Data and ELT databases.
Assist in aircraft modification programs, special projects, and fleet acquisitions.
Assist with revisions to Minimum Equipment List (MEL) manuals as required.
Prepare Quarterly ETOPS reporting to Boeing.
Be knowledgeable with all company and government manuals/documents pertaining to the work.
Communicate with Duty Managers and Maintenance senior Management.
Maintain training, remain current with all technical and regulatory training requirements.
Maintain a clean and safe workplace for team members.
Ensure compliance with Safety Management System (SMS) and safety/security policies, procedures and standards.
Perform any other duties as assigned by the Director of Engineering or Manager of Engineering.
Minimum Qualifications
5 years of aircraft maintenance experience.
Type Rating on B757, B767 or B777 or experience on Transport Category Aircraft considered an asset.
Ability to obtain an RAIC and AVOP.
Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint.
Excellent communication skills, problem‑solving abilities, detail‑oriented, able to multi‑task and work well under pressure.
