Community Partner Manager

Job Responsibility:
Job Overview:We are seeking a Manager for our Community Partner department. There are 2 streams of getting food from Loaves and Fishes; one is direct to clients through our Free Food Markets. The other is to our Community partners; other non-profit groups, food banks, school groups, meal programs, church groups, etc. This is what we refer to as Community Partners. The Community Partner Manager helps fight hunger on Vancouver Island by managing the daily and weekly operations related to the Loaves and Fishes Community Partner Department, ensuring that charitable organizations on Vancouver Island have the food they need to thrive.

Responsibilities:
a. Supervise and manage the activities of the community partner staff and volunteers, ensuring daily tasks are completed in a timely and organized manner.
b. Oversee and manage relationships with the Loaves & Fishes Community Partner network, ensuring policies, procedures, and changes are communicated when necessary.
c. Coordinate and manage the Food Banks BC National Food Sharing System (NFSS) including 24 other food banks, ensuring timely communication and coordination of food pickup and delivery logistics.
d. Train and develop team members (staff & volunteer) on proper Community Partner procedures, safety protocols, and company policies.
e. Resolve any issues or conflicts that arise with Community Partners and address the issue in a timely and respectful manner, ensuring the integrity and dignity of all parties involved.
f. Resolve any issues or conflicts that arise within the team and address performance issues concerns through coaching and mentoring.
g. Oversee and manage the building, weighing, documenting, and delivery of food donations to Community Partners, ensuring it is completed in a proper and timely manner.
h. Oversee and manage online ordering system including listing of products, inventory management, and completion of orders.
i. Prepare, update, and communicate trip details for truck runs containing Community Partner deliveries
j. Ensuring the Community Partner sections are maintained in a clean, organized fashion and stocked with the supplies necessary for others to do their jobs.
k. Ensuring our systems for organizing and rotating stock are monitored, implemented, and optimized to maximize freshness and minimize waste.
l. Identify areas for process improvement and implement efficient warehouse practices to enhance productivity and cost savings in a safe, efficient, and effective manner.
m. Participating in weekly meetings with the Director of Operations and weekly meetings with the management team.
n. Other duties as required.
Required skills:
· Excellent organizational and time management skills to effectively prioritize tasks and optimize our systems and meet deadlines.
· Strong leadership abilities with the ability to motivate and guide a team towards achieving goals.
· Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, to effectively communicate with team members, volunteers and community partners and members of the public.
· Strong interpersonal and people management skills, and an ability to give and receive direction in a positive manner with a diversity of individuals, including other staff, agencies, volunteers, donors and clients.
· Excellent administrative and computer skills, including abilities with detailed data entry, spreadsheet management, and the ability to learn computer systems quickly.
· Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing priorities and demands.
· Ability to work well under pressure and handle stressful situations with composure.
· Ability to work independently with minimal supervision, yet able to work well with the Director of Operations and executive leadership team.
· Problem-solving skills to identify and address issues in warehouse operations and implement efficient solutions.
· Practices and models creativity, problem-solving and system improvements with other staff, including use of the Kata Process.
· Lifting and maneuvering heavy objects (up to 50 lbs) and the ability to remain on your feet for most of your shift.
· Ability to drive 3-ton and 5-ton trucks or willingness to learn and be trained.
· Ability to operate manual and electric pallet jacks.
· Ability to operate a forklift (you will be trained on the forklift by one of our staff and given an opportunity to obtain your forklift ticket if you don't already have one).
· Basic understanding of CRA processes related to charities - preferred
· Post-secondary education - preferred
· Valid first aid certification - preferred
· Valid drivers license
After successful completion of 3 month probation period this position comes with a benefits package.
