Indirect Procurement Category Manager

Indirect procurement leadership meets supplier performance management in Ciena’s Category Lead role, based in Ottawa. Use category expertise to improve sourcing outcomes.This position develops and executes global strategies for indirect spend, including technical and engineering teams, Capex, and MRO. You will conduct spend and market analysis, identify suppliers, and lead sourcing through contract negotiation. The role also strengthens stakeholder relationships, compliance, reporting, and continuous improvement.Key Responsibilities:
Execute global strategies across indirect procurement categoriesIdentify suppliers and process improvement opportunities through analysisEvaluate vendors and negotiate procurement contractsAlign sourcing activities with internal business requirementsDrive continuous improvement using procurement practices and technologyRequirements:
Bachelor’s degree in supply chain, engineering, or related disciplineFive or more years of indirect procurement or strategic sourcingThree or more years of category management experienceTrack record delivering cost savings and process efficienciesStakeholder and supplier relationship-building capabilityBring category management, sourcing analysis, and contract negotiation skills to Ciena’s indirect procurement team in Ottawa.
