We are growing here at Daanaa and are looking for a Hardware Engineering Technologist to provide hands-on support across the development, testing, troubleshooting, and validation of our next-generation power electronics and semiconductor hardware. In this role, you will build and modify prototype hardware, execute electrical testing, troubleshoot hardware issues, and develop test fixtures and setups that help move products efficiently from prototype through commercialization.

What You'll Do

• Build, modify, and rework prototype PCBs, power converters, magnetics, cable harnesses, and other electrical assemblies.

• Perform hands-on assembly activities including soldering, PCB rework, wiring, component installation, heatsink assembly, and thermal interface application.

• Set up and execute electrical and power electronics testing using oscilloscopes, DMMs, electronic loads, power supplies, function generators, and other laboratory equipment.

• Accurately measure, analyze, and document electrical performance and test results.

• Troubleshoot electrical and hardware issues at the component, PCB, and system level using schematics, measurements, test data, and structured troubleshooting methods.

• Build and maintain test fixtures, load boxes, harnesses, breakout boards, and laboratory setups required for engineering development and validation.

• Support prototype builds, engineering validation, qualification, and transition toward production.

• Interpret schematics, PCB layouts, BOMs, datasheets, mechanical drawings, and engineering instructions to execute accurate hardware builds and test setups.

• Collaborate with engineers, manufacturing, procurement, and other cross-functional teams to resolve issues and keep hardware development activities moving efficiently.

What You'll Bring

• 2+ years of hands-on experience working with electrical or electronic hardware, ideally in a hardware development, manufacturing, test, or engineering environment.

• Strong practical ability to assemble, solder, rework, wire, modify, and troubleshoot electrical and electronic hardware using appropriate hand tools and equipment.

• Hands-on experience using oscilloscopes, DMMs, electronic loads, power supplies, function generators, and other laboratory equipment for electrical testing and characterization.

• Methodical approach to hardware troubleshooting and root-cause analysis, with the ability to use schematics, measurements, and test data to identify and verify solutions.

• Ability to accurately interpret schematics, PCB layouts, BOMs, datasheets, mechanical drawings, and engineering instructions and translate them into physical assemblies and test setups.

• High attention to detail and precision when performing assembly, wiring, measurements, component installation, and hardware modifications.

• Experience building or maintaining test fixtures, harnesses, breakout boards, load boxes, or other custom engineering test equipment.

• Ability to take ownership of prototype builds, testing, troubleshooting, and assigned engineering activities while working effectively with engineers and cross-functional teams.

• Experience with power electronics, power converters, semiconductors, PCB assemblies, or other complex electrical hardware is an asset.

• Technical diploma or bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, Electrical Engineering Technology, or a related discipline is an asset.

Your Compensation and Benefits Package:

Daanaa’s compensation package is based on a pay-for-performance philosophy that recognizes exceptional individual and team performance. The typical salary range for this position is from $70,000 - $90,000 annually. This may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills and experience.
