As a Manufacturing Technician, you will operate and tend to advanced automated manufacturing equipment, including robotics and fixed automation systems. You will interpret machine readouts, monitor variance, perform critical quality checks, and maintain accurate production logs to drive operational excellence. This position features a rotating shift schedule designed for balance: 2 weeks on Day shift (6:00 AM – 2:00 PM) followed by 2 weeks on Afternoon shift (3:00 PM – 11:00 PM). Please note that there is no public bus route available to this facility, so reliable personal transportation is required.

Responsibilities
- Automation Operations: Operate, monitor, and tend to state-of-the-art automated equipment, robotics, and fixed machinery.
- System Adjustments: Interpret machine readouts and precisely calibrate settings to accommodate material variances, quality specs, and operational thresholds.
- Quality Assurance: Perform regular quality checks against strict predetermined standards to guarantee product excellence.
- Setup & Changeovers: Assist with machine changeovers, operate overhead cranes to swap machine fixtures, and configure pre-programmed automation systems.
- Production Tracking: Accurately log production metrics into computerized tracking systems, including parts per hour, scrap, downtime, and traceability data.
- Pre-Shift Safety Checks: Conduct independent work cell inspections prior to start-up to ensure optimal machine condition and resolve any safety or performance concerns.
- Housekeeping & Upkeep: Maintain a clean, organized work environment throughout the shift and during end-of-shift cleanup, including proper disposal of waste and scrap.
- Continuous Improvement: Active participation in World Class Manufacturing initiatives by sharing constructive feedback and process improvements.
- Team Collaboration: Partner effectively with colleagues in a high-energy, fast-paced setting.

Qualifications
- Required Experience: Mandatory previous background in a manufacturing or industrial environment.
- Technical Asset: Prior experience with robotic or automated systems is considered a strong asset.
- Education: Post-secondary degree or diploma in a related technical discipline preferred.
- Instructions & Schematics: Proven track record following visual work instructions, technical documentation, and pre-programmed schematics.
- Aptitude & Analysis: Strong mechanical aptitude with solid problem-solving skills to troubleshoot machine variances.
- Core Skills: General math skills for calculating rates and metrics, paired with clear written and oral communication skills for precise documentation.
- Interpersonal Traits: High-performing team player with a collaborative, adaptable mindset.
- Clearances & Eligibility: Legal authorization to work in Canada and a clear criminal background check.
- Logistics: Reliable personal transportation (location is not accessible by public transit).
